Study Rooms & Pods

  • Free of charge and available at most Library locations with a library card.
  • Intended to provide space for individuals and small groups.
  • Two hour time limit.
  • Community Connections Rooms have video conferencing equipment which is free to use with your reservation.

Central Library

All study rooms are located on the fourth floor. The key will be available for your reservation at the 3South desk.

Room Policies

  • NEW: All study space reservations now require a free library card. You can sign up for one here. If you would rather not sign up for a card, most locations offer general seating & tables and/or reservable meeting rooms.
  • All rooms can be used once a day for up to two hours per person/group.
  • Advanced reservations are not required but to ensure yourself a space, advanced reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made on this site up to seven days prior.
  • You must have a library card to use the computer in a Community Connections Room. If you need a card, please sign up online prior to your appointment, or arrive early and apply at the front desk.
  • Limited technical assistance is available for Community Connections Room equipment.
  • Reservations may be canceled and the room given to another patron if you have not arrived 10 minutes after your scheduled time.
  • Lights are to remain on at all times.
  • Rooms may not be used for musical instrument practice, with the exception of Central Library Room 414 (Clavinova Room).
  • Leave the room promptly at the end of your reserved time slot. Please vacate the study rooms 10 minutes before building closing.
  • Patrons are required to remove all belongings, trash, paper, books etc. when departing the room.
  • Kansas City Public Library assumes no responsibility for either Library or personal possessions left in study rooms.
